5K Foam Fest is coming this summer to support Make a Wish Canada

For run lovers, who also want to get filthy clean, an upcoming 5 kilometer foam fest is a chance to take part in a distance event this summer at half price, while also contributing to a worthy cause.

The 5K Foam Fest is an obstacle course run suitable for both experienced and beginner runners, with more than 22 optional obstacles, including the world’s largest inflatable waterslide, mud pits and 2.5 million cubic feet of foam.

This all-ages event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, 3292 Sixth Ave., Lincoln. The event runs in waves. The first wave begins at 8 am, with a new wave starting every 15 minutes. The last wave is around 1 pm and the event finishes at around 4 pm

Kids aged seven or above are eligible to take part, while those who are under 12 must run with a registered adult. There will also be a free kid’s zone for children aged six and under, food stations, shops organized by local vendors and a beer garden with music throughout the day.

Apart from children, the event also welcomes spectators, including seniors, with complimentary access to the festival area, vendors and beer garden.

The event supports Make-A-Wish Canada, an organization that works with communities across the country to provide for children with critical illnesses.
